Bill Maher’s Friday Real Time monologue tackled the sexual assault allegation against Senator Al Franken. And while Maher acknowledged that Franken “did a bad thing” and deserves the condemnation that’s been heaped upon him, Maher also insists that “what he does not deserve is to be lumped in with Roy Moore, or Kevin Spacey, or Harvey Weinstein. Or Donald Trump!”

Maher deservedly went in on Moore, mocking the fact that his harassment of teenage girls got him banned from a local mall. “Too creepy for an Alabama mall?” said Maher. “That’s like being too fat for the Iowa State Fair or too high for Burning Man.”
Though Roy Moore’s targeting of minors is especially heinous, maybe now isn’t the time to be sorting sexual offenders on a scale from least to most bad, Bill, especially as any sign of liberal hypocrisy when it comes to Franken will be used as a cudgel by conservatives defending Trump against his own accusers. Trump’s already doing it himself.
