Trending News: It’s Official, Georges St-Pierre Is Back In the UFC
Own The Conversation
Years after looking very much like a man who probably shouldn’t walk back into the octagon ever again, Georges St-Pierre has been hinting at a comeback for what feels like forever now (no, seriously). But if TMZ is to be believed, all the speculation is over: GSP will return to the UFC to fight Michael Bisping for the 185-lb title.
It’s official … Georges St-Pierre WILL fight Michael Bisping for the 185 pound title!
UFC honcho Dana White just announced a deal was made over a recent dinner in Las Vegas … and says the fight will go down later in 2017.
TMZ notes that no date is set — just that the bout will go down “later in 2017,” which could mean this summer, or it could mean around Christmas. White also noted that, with the recent spate of UFC fighters testing positive for PEDS, Georges will have to undergo “three months” of USADA testing before he’s in the clear. Barring that, though, his return to the UFC seems very certain indeed.
Oh, and because you literally can’t have a UFC anymore these days without somehow shoehorning Conor McGregor into it, TMZ apparently also asked White about the possibility of a matchup between the two legendary fighters.
White also said rumblings of a possible fight between GSP and Conor McGregor never came close to actually happening. At least not yet.
Good. That would be dumb.
