Trending News: Watch The Rock Hilariously Troll A Superfan Like Only He Can
Why Is This Important?
Finally, we have solid proof that The Rock is 50% Expert Troll and 50% Nicest Guy Ever.
Long Story Short
Being a mega fan of The Rock REALLY pays off. When a superfan in Vancouver spent three days patiently waiting to catch a glimpse of his fave actor, he was rewarded with some hilarious one-on-one time with his idol.
Fact: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is awesome. The 45-year-old, who is currently in Vancouver filming Skyscraper, proved that he’s the nicest (and most down-to-earth) actor in Hollywood when he took time to surprise a superfan following a 16-hour shoot. But he didn’t just pose for a selfie or sign an autograph. Nope, he went full-out troll and the result was hilarious.
Mr. Excellent (or so he calls himself on Insta… we don’t think that’s his real name…) camped outside the set of Skyscraper holding a massive cardboard cutout of The Rock’s face, which he made using 20 8.5×11 pieces of paper, in the hopes of getting to meet his favorite actor and boy, did it ever pay off.
The Rock took to Instagram to document the encounter for his followers, writing: “As I’m loading up my truck, my security says “there’s a guy up there by railroad tracks who’s been waiting for the past 3 nights about 8hrs a night. You’re finally gonna see when you drive by. How would you like to handle it? The only way I know how.”
How’s that exactly? By rolling up next to the dude at 1 a.m. and yelling out from his truck “So here’s the thing, I’m real tired, how about you just come back tomorrow?” before slowly starting to pull away. Mr. E was beyond happy with that, then The Rock stopped, pointed to the huge cardboard head and asked, “Did you make that yourself?” Upon learning that yes, yes he did, he couldn’t help but laugh, “Well, it sucks. Goodbye.” EVIIIIL!
In reality, The Rock ended up chatting with his No. 1 supporter for a couple of minutes before signing his own face and posing for a selfie. All of which resulted in Mr. E confirming on Insta that The Rock “really is as nice as he seems!” As for the actor himself, he seemed beyond touched by the whole thing, finishing his Insta post with: “I’m a grateful and lucky SOB to have the greatest fans in the world.”
And in case you’re wondering if Mr. E really did spend all that time waiting, costume designer Ann Foley has the snap to prove it. Posting a pic of the superfan sitting on the side of the road outside the Vancouver studios, she wrote: “@therock has some pretty amazing fans! This is dedication!”
Honestly, both of these guys are awesome.
