Despite the constant press coverage, the “FUCK YOU” suits, the racism, and the homophobia, tickets for the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight just aren’t selling the way much-hyped boxing matches usually do.
The Washington Post reports that compared to other big bouts, ticket sales have been disappointing. Hundreds of tickets were still available as of Saturday night, five days after they first went on sale. Meanwhile, when Mayweather went up against Manny Pacquiao in 2015, tickets sold out in under a minute. The cheap seats for that fight were $1,500, however, while tickets to the Mayweather-McGregor match-up start at a cool $3,500.

It makes you wonder if maybe people just can’t get too excited about a boxing match featuring a non-boxer who doesn’t stand a chance of winning.
