An unused 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster is headed to the auction block at the Bonhams event during this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The modern day relic features a 600 hp (450kW) 6.9-liter V12 engine with 572 lb-ft of torque. The roadster climbs from 0 to 62 mph in only 3.8 seconds and tops out at 199 mph. So it is fast and competitive even in comparison to new cars.
The car is definitively ‘90s with its long body and rounded square edges. It is somewhat nostalgic to look at for those of us who appreciated it when it first hit the roads, but this one has never been given the chance, which is what makes it so special and rare.
The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster is expected to fetch anywhere between $2.17m and $2,79m at the auction scheduled to take place on the 26th of June. (via Highsnobiety)
