The Adidas Consortium EQT 93/16 Support might have roots in running, but its new launch with Belgium-based footwear boutique Avenue was not meant to pound the pavement. Instead, Avenue did as Avenue does, giving the sneaker an intensely luxe upgrade.
The latest inspiration for a cool-looking sneaker: Scandinavian fabric and upholstery. Lina Fredriksson, Avenue founder, collaborated with Michael Hernandez, of design studio Bruin Co. and Oregon’s High Street Gallery. The result? A clean, cool sneaker that feels familiar, but still special. The silhouette isn’t challenging to pull off, but the nuanced details elevate the entire look of the shoe.
The new EQT 93/16, which comes in tan and black, retails for $200. The pre-release drops May 27 at avenuestore.be, and the global launch is June 3. For stateside buyers, look to Barneys, Concepts, Kith, and more.
